Job summary

ThinkingAhead is hiring a Head of Portfolio & Credit Administration in New York to align Commercial Credit, Portfolio Administration and Documentation teams. You will advocate, collaborate, and drive efficient processes across Middle Market, CRE and Business Banking.

The role focuses on underwriting, team development, and strong cross‑functional partnerships. You will foster a high‑performing environment, coach staff, ensure loan compliance, and manage portfolio reporting, audits, and risk

Qualifications

• 10+ years in commercial credit and portfolio administration management and underwriting/analysis.
• Ability to drive process improvements through procedures and job aids.
• Collaborative leader with strong relationship-building skills.
• Deep knowledge of commercial banking products, policies, and credit standards.
• Experience with bank systems such as FIS, loan operating, and imaging platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Commercial Credit Analysts and Commercial Administrative Portfolio Managers.
• Coach and develop analysts to improve underwriting standards for new and modified credits.
• Oversee portfolio workflow including new loan requests and credit administration.
• Underwrite new credit requests and modifications as needed.
• Monitor financial statement collection, covenant tests, and annual reviews.
• Ensure compliance with banking laws, policies, and risk controls.
• Coordinate audits and address findings with RM/PM and team leaders.
