Job summary

3Degrees is hiring a Trading Portfolio Analyst in Portland, ME, to analyze portfolios, develop internal reporting tools, and enhance our environmental markets strategy. You will translate complex data for portfolio managers and non-technical stakeholders, building automated solutions with Python, Power BI, and Excel.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, process optimization, and a drive to decarbonize North America through rigorous data analysis and strategic insights.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in quantitative data analysis.
• Knowledge of reconciliations, trial balances, or fund accounting logic (valuation stacks, balance checks, dataset matching).
• Advanced Excel with reporting templates and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation.
• Familiarity with Power BI and DAX (or Tableau with willingness to migrate to Power BI).
• Awareness of AI tools and low-code platforms to automate workflows.
• Attention to data accuracy; ability to detect anomalies and run sensitivity analysis.
• Excellent communication to translate complex data for non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to work in-person at the Portland, ME office.

Responsibilities

• Improve portfolio valuation, reporting processes, and strategic decision-making.
• Develop and maintain weekly valuation reports for stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot and support downstream Excel workbooks used by traders and portfolio managers.
• Design and execute reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting across tools.
• Explain valuation movements to non-technical audiences and resolve data questions.
• Audit workflows to identify automation opportunities using AI and low-code tools.
• Leverage Python and Power BI to build scalable, automated reports.
• Collaborate with teams to analyze risks and opportunities in North American REC markets.
