Job summary

Mutual of Omaha Insurance Co. in Omaha seeks an I/S Agile Project Manager II to oversee a portfolio of finance/operations initiatives, spanning cross-functional teams, vendor/system replacements, and large data conversions. You own outcomes across multiple initiatives with executive visibility.

You will apply SAFe/PMBOK practices, coordinate dependencies, and deliver executive-ready updates to sponsors and technology leaders while ensuring governance and compliance in financial systems.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of combined project/program management experience, including oversight of large-scale technology initiatives.
• 5-7 years of information technology and/or business experience.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across a portfolio – not just a single team – with strong prioritization and cross-team dependency management.
• Working knowledge of the SAFe Framework, risk, procurement, and change management methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery across the portfolio: Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of 2+ concurrent projects or programs spanning multiple cross-functional teams.
• Serve as the primary coordination point: Identify, elevate, and drive resolution of risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery constraints.
• Apply the right framework: Act as process expert across Scrum, XP, Kanban, DevOps, SAFe, and PMBOK; tailor practices per initiative.
• Drive cross-functional alignment: Facilitate planning, decision-making, and trade-off discussions with sponsors and technology teams.
• Own compliance and information management: Ensure governance processes are followed and develop action plans to close gaps.
• Manage stakeholder communication: Build and manage communication plans for business users and teams.
• Lead Critical Path Planning: Initiate and lead planning sessions across multiple teams and ARTs, developing artifacts and communications.
• Report up: Deliver concise, executive-ready updates highlighting progress, risks, dependencies, constraints, and decisions needed.
• Manage flow and quality: Monitor metrics (cycle time, throughput, WIP) and drive process improvements; lead retrospectives.
• Mentor and share knowledge: Develop peers and junior PMs; contribute to org-wide best practices.
