Job summary

Mark-Taylor in Scottsdale seeks a Portfolio Accountant to join our corporate office. You will prepare monthly financial reports, reconcile balance sheets, oversee cash management and bank reconciliations, and analyze cash flows for allocated properties.

We value a B.S. in Accounting/Finance, 2 years of property-management accounting, strong Excel, and excellent communication. Experience with ResMan/RealPage/MRI/YARDI is a plus, and we offer growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Accounting/Finance or equivalent.
• Preferably 2 years of property management experience with GAAP reporting.
• Strong Excel skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency in property management software (ResMan/RealPage/MRI/YARDI) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial reports.
• Reconcile balance sheets.
• Oversee cash management and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Perform cash flow analysis and client distributions.
• Handle draw preparation and review budgets for lease-up properties.
• Prepare monthly sales tax returns.
• Audit property transactions actual to budget and coordinate with operations for month-end close.
• Review general ledger and AP coding for each community.

Requirements

• B.S. In Accounting/Finance or equivalent.
• Preferably 2 years of property management experience working with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to report financial information.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Excellent communications skills both verbal and in writing.
• Resman, RealPage, MRI, YARDI or other property management software proficiency is highly desirable

In This Role You Will

• Prepare monthly financial reports.
• Reconcile Balance Sheets.
• Oversee cash management and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Preform Cash flow analysis/client distributions.
• Handle draw preparation and review budgets for lease up properties.
• Prepare monthly sales tax returns.
• Audit property transactions actual to budget, coordinating with community operations regarding all on site accounting activity, for Month end close.
• Review the General Ledger and Accounts Payable coding for each community.
• Other duties as assigned by Manager
