Job summary

Job description

LaSalle Investment Management is currently seeking a Portfolio Accountant to support accounting and reporting for estate investment portfolios under Fair Value GAAP. The role reports to the Portfolio Controller.

Responsibilities

• Assist in quarterly and annual accounting closes
• Post journal entries and complete bank reconciliations
• Complete quarterly financial analysis and review statements from co‑investment managers
• Prepare financial statements and related footnotes
• Identify and lead AI‑driven process improvement projects across the accounting and reporting cycle, including automating recurring tasks and building efficiencies in financial statement preparation
• Prepare third‑party consultant reports
• Accurately calculate, interpret and communicate financial performance returns
• Accurately complete cash management transactions and cash tracking
• Assist with quarterly and annual reporting requirements, year‑end audit and tax requirements
• Create efficiency and effectiveness in the financial reporting process to improve client services
• Take initiative in identifying problems and providing suggested solutions
• Assist with various special projects as assigned

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 1‑3 years of accounting experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• CPA designation preferred; candidate will be expected to achieve CPA
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to think creatively and independently develop solutions
• Effectiveness in reviewing own work for accuracy
• Highly organized, multi‑tasker
• Team player who works well independently and in a team environment
• Strong knowledge of technical accounting concepts
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Working knowledge of AI tools and interest in applying them professionally
• Openness to continuous learning and evaluating new AI tools
