Position Summary
The Warehouse Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, assisting with the loading and unloading of goods, and supporting the overall operations of the warehouse. This role requires a strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Loading and Unloading: Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring goods are handled safely and efficiently.
• Inventory Management: Help with the organization and storage of inventory, ensuring items are properly labeled and stored in the correct locations.
• Cleanliness and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized warehouse by sweeping, mopping, and performing other cleaning duties as needed.
• Equipment Operation: Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
• Support Operations: Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed, including packing, labeling, and preparing shipments.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Must be flexible, adaptable, and willing to thrive in an ever-changing/fast-paced environment.
• Ability to be standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
• Ability to travel via personal vehicle or public transportation to various facilities throughout the region.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Able to perform this job safely, without endangering the health or safety of themself or others.

Recommended Education, Training and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred.
GSGLA Employee Requirements
• Comply with state-mandated reporter training
• Attend GSGLA signature events and/or other activities as assigned
