Job summary

Flying Food Group in Inglewood, CA, is seeking a Porter Supervisor to oversee daily porter operations in a 24/7 facility. The role requires strong leadership, GMP familiarity, and the ability to train staff in food safety while maintaining strict sanitation standards.

You will monitor performance, enforce shift coverage, and report on inspections to prevent deficiencies. A bilingual candidate with 2+ years in sanitation leadership in the food industry is preferred.

  • Minimum 1-2 years janitorial/sanitation experience in food industry.
  • Demonstrated people and team leadership skills (minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience).
  • Working knowledge of sanitation practices and programs (minimum of 2 years of food industry sanitation systems management).
  • Excellent communication and teaming skills
  • Must be bilingual

Job description

Porter Supervisor

Classification: Exempt

Salary Range: $70,720

Job Description
  • Ensure compliance with all Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP)
  • Must comply with uniform/dress code (company provides uniform)
  • Supervise daily operations of the porter employees
  • Distributes clean dishware to appropriate areas
  • Notifies manager of maintenance issues and repair problems in the dish room
  • Ensure porter crew is trained in AIB
  • Develop and present dish room/porter, GMP, and Food safety training programs
  • Audit all dish room and porter food safety training programs to ensure compliance
  • Work with USDA/CBP handling of regulated garbage
  • Prepare reports on inspections, correct deficiencies and implement action steps
  • Monitors employee's performance
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Position requires working different shifts
  • Ensure porter crew department is sanitized and clean
Essential Functions
  • Demonstrated leadership of sanitation programs and continuous improvement.
  • Strong regulatory awareness in the food sector and sanitation.
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), COP and, CIP cleaning processes, and safe and proper chemical handling.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including team building and oral communication.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Participates in continuous improvement efforts
  • A team builder with the ability to lead and motivate diverse management and hourly staff and build a positive employee relations culture and work environment
