Job summary

Flying Food Group is seeking a Porter in the Sanitation department in Los Angeles area. The role is an hourly, entry-level sanitation position with a starting hourly rate of $20.73 and requires adherence to HACCP guidelines and USDA regulations.

The successful candidate will clean interior and exterior areas, maintain safe floors, and support sanitation operations 24/7. Prior entry-level sanitation exposure is beneficial; training is provided on site.

Qualifications

• One to three months related sanitation experience and/or training.
• Able to read machine operation monitoring instruments and procedure documents.
• Manual dexterity to handle tools and equipment used in cleaning processes.
• Ability to follow written or oral instructions and use common sense in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

• Follow unit rules for entry to building and work areas, attired properly and HACCP compliant.
• Adhere to sanitation SOPs and GMPs to maintain USDA compliance.
• Clean and sanitize interior areas and exterior unit property.
• Keep floors dry to minimize slips and falls; mop spills promptly.
• Use detergents and solvents safely; store sanitation chemicals properly.
• Sanitize restrooms and common areas; clean walls and floors.
• Empty and clean refuse containers and dispose correctly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by unit Supervisors.

Hourly Rate: $20.73

Job Responsibilities

• Follow established rules of each unit for entry to building and work areas, properly attired and in compliance with HACCP guidelines for personal hygiene and observe security precautions as mandated by unit management
• Comply with company implemented sanitation Standard Operating Procedures including the company's HACCP Plan and Good Manufacturing Practices which maintains the company's compliance with USDA regulations.
• Clean and sanitize all interior areas within unit and external unit property.
• Ensure that spills are promptly mopped up and floors are kept dry to minimize slips and falls due to wet floors.
• Use proper detergents and degreasing solvents to maintain safe working environment for all production areas and maintain use and proper storage of sanitation chemicals and equipment.
• Sanitize all restrooms and areas of common personnel traffic, including walls and floors
• Empty and clean refuse containers and dispose of refuse in proper bins for later removal.
• Perform other duties as assigned by unit Supervisors.

Job Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, abilities and other job related attributes needed to perform the job at a satisfactory level.

• Education/Experience - One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Ability - Able to communicate with coworkers and supervisors and read machine operations monitoring instruments, as well as documents monitoring use of equipment used in daily sanitation procedures..
• Manual Dexterity - Able to work with hands to handle tools and equipment used in cleaning processes
• Reasoning Ability - Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Computer Skills - No Computer skills needed.
• Certificates and Licenses - No certifications needed. Within 3 years, Sanitation License or Certificate will be a plus.
