Foundation Communities is seeking a Porter to keep all community grounds clean and orderly in Austin, TX. You will perform daily cleaning, trash removal, and minor maintenance tasks across multiple properties, including assist with make-readies and storage areas.

English language ability is required, and some physical tasks may include lifting and digging. The role offers a full-time schedule with an hourly pay rate of $19.12, along with a benefits package that includes health coverage, a 401(k)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or 1 year of practical experience with demonstrated skills.
• Ability to understand English is required.
• Experience with groundskeeping, cleaning tasks, or basic facility maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Remove litter and debris daily from all property areas including pool, laundry, dumpster, recreation areas, and walkways.
• Trash out vacated apartments and remove abandoned items.
• Assist with various physical tasks such as tearing down fences or trenching as needed.
• Assist with make-readies and cleaning/maintaining storage rooms.
• Monitor utility meter cut-offs, sewer clean-outs, and safety precautions; help repair/install sprinklers.

Position Description:

The Porter position will ensure that all community property grounds are clean on a daily basis.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

• Remove litter and debris daily from all areas of the property (areas include: pool area, laundry rooms, dumpster area, recreation areas, general grounds, and walkways to, from and in between buildings)
• Trash out vacated apartments (remove abandoned furniture, trash, boxes, etc.)
• Assist with various physical tasks (.e. tearing down fences, digging trenches, etc.)
• Assist with make-readies
• Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of storage rooms
• Maintain awareness of utility meter cut-offs, sewer clean-outs, and safety precautions
• Repair and adjust sprinklers
• High school diploma/ equivalent OR 1 year of practical experience with demonstration of required skills
• To work at other Foundation Communities properties in the Austin area as needed
• Ability to understand English

An occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials can be expected. May be asked to clean up bodily fluids with appropriate training and personal protective equipment provided.

Physical Requirements

CONSTANTLY: standing/walking, bending/stooping/squatting, pushing/pulling, grasping/gripping, reaching above the shoulder, climbing, lifting between 0 and 25 pounds.

FREQUENTLY: coordination of hand/eye/foot, finger dexterity, lifting between 26 and 50 pounds.

May be required to provide coverage/help at other supportive housing communities as needed.

Compensation

$ 19.12 /hour
