Job summary

DBox Inc. is seeking a Porter/Maintenance Technician in the Dallas, TX area. This dual-role position combines portering and hands-on maintenance, with a total of 40 hours per week (20 portering, 20 maintenance).

Based out of Garland, TX, the role pays $19.00 per hour. Travel between sites is required, and you’ll support commercial properties with a focus on safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial/porter/maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Reliable, punctual and self-motivated.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Porter duties (20 hrs / week): Sweep walkways, entrances, parking lots, and exterior areas; maintain cleanliness of common areas; replace trash liners; report issues; be professional with tenants/visitors; follow safety procedures.
• Maintenance technician duties (20 hrs / week): Perform painting, minor plumbing, drywall repair, door/window repairs, ceiling tile replacement; assist with site cleanup and salting sidewalks; respond to work orders via smartphone; ensure work is safe and up to standards; communicate with supervisors; assist teammates.

Porter/Maintenance Technician

• Full-Time (40 hours per week - 20 portering, 20 maintenance)
• $19.00 / hour

DBox Inc is a leading provider of commercial maintenance and cleaning services, committed to delivering high-quality service and maintaining strong client satisfaction. We are currently seeking a reliable, hardworking, and skilled Porter/Maintenance Technician to join our growing team in Dallas, Texas area.

This is a dual-role position combining both portering and hands-on maintenance work to support our commercial properties.

Schedule & Structure

• 40 hours per week total
• 20 hours per week Portering duties
• 20 hours per week Maintenance Technician duties
• Full-time position

Key Responsibilities

Porter Duties (20 hrs / week):

• Sweep walkways, entrances, parking lots, and exterior areas
• Maintain cleanliness of common areas including lobbies, hallways, and restrooms
• Empty and replace trash liners and restock supplies as needed
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly
• Maintain a professional and customer-friendly attitude when interacting with tenants and visitors
• Follow all company safety and operational procedures

Maintenance Technician Duties (20 hrs / week):

• Perform routine and basic maintenance tasks including painting, minor plumbing, drywall repair, door/window repairs, and ceiling tile replacement
• Assist with haul-offs, site cleanup, salting sidewalks, and general property upkeep
• Respond to maintenance work order via smartphone and document job progress
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to company standards
• Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding job status and material needs
• Support team members in completing scheduled maintenance tasks

Qualifications

• Previous experience in janitorial, porter, or maintenance/handyman work preferred
• Ability to perform physical labor and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Must be reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and repair work
• Ability to use a smartphone for work orders and updates
• Valid driver's license (requires travel between sites)
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
