Job summary

DTK Facility Services is seeking an experienced Maintenance Porter to support our client facilities in Texas. The role focuses on daytime cleaning and quick maintenance tasks during business hours, ensuring a clean and functional environment.

Ideal candidates are bilingual (English/Spanish preferred), reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or with a team while following health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Prior cleaning experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional with excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main contact for facility users’ cleaning and maintenance needs.
• Dust and wipe desks, tables, windowsills and similar surfaces.
• Empty trash and recycling bins; replace liners as needed.
• Clean windows, glass doors, and mirrors.
• Report maintenance issues such as leaks, broken fixtures, or safety hazards.
• Assist with light maintenance tasks (e.g., changing bulbs, minor repairs).
• Support special cleaning or facility setup tasks as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Maintenance porters play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of a facility throughout the day. Unlike evening or night janitorial staff, Maintenance Porters are responsible for maintaining the building’s cleanliness during business hours, handling quick cleaning tasks, and responding to immediate needs as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a point of contact for facility users for cleaning and maintenance needs.
• Dust and wipe desks, tables, windowsills, etc.
• Empty trash and recycling bins, replace liners.
• Clean windows, glass doors, and mirrors.
• Report maintenance issues such as leaks, broken fixtures, or safety hazards.
• Assist with light maintenance tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, minor repairs).
• Support special cleaning or facility setup tasks as needed.
• Other duties as needed.

What We’re Looking For

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.

• May operate a boom lift or other equipment for high-reach cleaning or maintenance.
• Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Work Environment

• Work may take place in office buildings, schools, medical facilities, or commercial spaces.
• May require evening, weekend, or holiday shifts depending on location needs.
