Job summary

The Encore at Boca Raton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a Porter/Floor Technician to support daily cleaning and floor care within our facility.

You will follow cleaning schedules, coordinate with nursing staff, perform routine cleaning, move supplies, handle waste, and ensure infection control guidelines are followed. The role requires English literacy and physical ability to lift and move loads; flexibility to work assigned hours.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Follow cleaning schedules and coordinate daily floor cleaning with nursing staff.
• Clean spills, soiled areas and maintain high gloss on floors.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks on equipment prior to use.
• Dis infect and dispose of waste per protocol.
• Move linen, trash and deliveries as scheduled.
• Attend mandatory department in-services and follow infection control guidelines.
• Report safety and repair issues to Management.

Porter/Floor Technician

Floor Technician Job Description:

• Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as possible.
• Coordinate daily floor cleaning services with nursing and performing routine cleaning assignment.
• Clean up spills, soiled areas, and other conditions as observed or directed.
• Perform preventative maintenance check on all equipment prior to use.
• Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing and burnishing, disinfecting in order to maintain a high gloss finish on all hard floors.
• Clean vacant rooms and general areas as assigned.
• Discard infectious wastes into appropriate containers.
• Routinely check corners and edgings, ensuring they are kept dust free.
• Ensure baseboards are kept free of wax.
• Turn in all found or unclaimed articles to your supervisor.

Porter/Job Description:

• Distribute linen daily or as needed.
• Pick up empty linen carts daily or as needed.
• Remove trash/garbage from all assigned areas and transport to dumpster as needed and as per training.
• Remove soiled laundry from all assigned areas and transport to laundry department as needed and as per training.
• Empty all Sharp Containers as per training.
• Perform all assigned duties assigned by Management.
• Maintain all supplies and equipment for cleanliness and working condition daily and as per training.
• Store and secure equipment and supplies daily.
• Accept and put away deliveries as scheduled.
• Clean Nottingham and Westminster Dining Rooms on evening shift.
• Attend mandatory and department in-services and meetings.
• Follow all infection control and fire and safety guidelines daily.
• Report all safety and repair issues to Management as needed.

Work Environment:

The general work conditions, elements the employee may be exposed to while performing the duties of their position can be odors, feces, urine, vomit, trash, rain, snow, heat, cold and food waste.

Physical Demands:

The employee will be required to occasionally lift up to 50lbs. and occasionally push up to 40lbs. The employee must also be able to climb stairs, step stools and ladders. The employee must also be able to bend, reach, turn, twist, handle, walk and feel equipment and items. To perform their job.
