Job summary

KDC-ONE is seeking a reliable Building Maintenance Technician at our Saddle Brook, NJ facility to perform general cleaning and upkeep of interior and exterior spaces.

You will sweep, mop, scrubbing and vacuum floors, operate floor scrubbers, clean bathrooms, and assist with preventive maintenance and safety SOPs to keep the site running smoothly.

This non-exempt role offers steady hours, pays a competitive wage, and a practical, hands-on environment where reliability and teamwork are valued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; 2–5 years general building maintenance experience.
• Basic English communication skills.
• Ability to follow SOPs and safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors and furniture; operate floor scrubber as needed.
• Maintain exterior perimeter and bathrooms; handle waste disposal.
• Assist maintenance technicians with preventive and corrective tasks.
• Perform daily lighting checks and perform other duties as assigned.

BASIC FUNCTION

Responsible for performing general building maintenance and cleaning both interior and exterior as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming.
• Operate Floor Scrubber for production and warehouse floors as required.
• Clean and polish all furniture and fixtures.
• Regular cleaning and maintenance of exterior building perimeter.
• Clean, wash or paint building walls as required.
• Remove rubbish from all trash containers throughout building including office receptacles.
• Maintain and sanitize all building bathroom/rest areas.
• Supply and Service Quality Control area
• Daily checks of all office and bathroom lighting
• Assist Building Maintenance Technicians as requested with preventive and corrective maintenance issues.
• Daily check for operational plumbing
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Must have basic English oral, written and communication skills.
• Skilled in preventive maintenance measures and trouble shooting.
• Organized and efficient in time management skills.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Capable of following all required SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) and safety programs.

• Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.

EDUCATION / TRAINING

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Minimum of 2-5 years of general building maintenance. A combination of vocational training, education and experience that is equivalent to the employment standards listed above and provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
