Job summary

Columbia University Facilities & Operations seeks a Porter to support cleanliness and maintenance of university apartment buildings and surrounding grounds. Under general direction, you will help keep elevators, stairways, corridors, windows, floors, and laundry rooms clean and orderly, and assist with related tasks as needed.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent; knowledge of building and grounds maintenance is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and maintenance of buildings and grounds complex: elevators, stairways, corridors, windows, floors, laundry rooms.
• Trimming trees and shrubs, and lawn maintenance.
• Sweeps and hoses sidewalks.
• Removes snow and spreads salt as needed.
• Heavy lifting may be required.
