Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in New York seeks a Porter to support vehicle preparation and shop cleanliness. You will pre-wash customer vehicles before repairs and maintain the interior of the office and production areas.

Responsibilities include keeping the parking lots tidy, moving vehicles to sublet locations, and cleaning vehicles after repairs to ensure a first-rate customer experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced shop.
• Automotive experience preferred but not required.
• Clear vision and safe driving responsibilities.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Strong attention to detail is essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW plan.
• Maintain office interior cleanliness and daily trash disposal.
• Keep production area clean, sweep floors, and organize tools.
• Maintain parking lots and grounds in neat condition.
• Pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs.
• Clean interiors and exteriors of customer vehicles after repairs.
• Transport vehicles to sublet locations for repairs.

Job Description

The Porter complements quality repairs by cleaning customer vehicles prior to vehicle delivery. Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of shop and office facilities.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including daily emptying of garbage cans, cleaning the floors, and dusting the countertops and work area.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area, emptying of waste cans, sweeping the floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location.
• Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
• Pre-washes customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning.
• Exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
• Transport of customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs

Education and/or Experience Required

• High School diploma / GED preferred
• Ability to multitask
• Automotive experience preferred
• Clear close vision required 18 years or age or older
• Valid Driver's license
• Strong attention to detail
