Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking a Porter to support vehicle prep and keep the shop and office areas clean. You will perform pre-wash and post-repair cleanup, maintain floors and surfaces, and help move vehicles to sublet locations as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, the ability to multitask, and a valid driver's license. Prior automotive exposure and sharp attention to detail are valued in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced shop environment.
• Automotive experience preferred for familiarity with vehicles.
• Clear close vision required to inspect and handling parts.
• 18 years or older and valid driver's license are required.
• Strong attention to detail in housekeeping and vehicle prep.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the office interior (garbage, floors, surfaces).
• Maintain daily housekeeping of the production area (waste, floors, tools).
• Keep parking lots and grounds neat; shovel sidewalks when needed.
• Pre-washes customer vehicles prior to repairs.
• Clean interior and exterior of vehicles after repairs.
• Transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs.

Job Description:

The Porter complements quality repairs by cleaning customer vehicles prior to vehicle delivery. Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of shop and office facilities.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including daily emptying of garbage cans, cleaning the floors, and dusting the countertops and work area.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area, emptying of waste cans, sweeping the floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location.
• Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
• Pre-washes customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning.
• Exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
• Transport of customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs

Education and/or Experience Required

• High School diploma / GED preferred
• Ability to multitask
• Automotive experience preferred
• Clear close vision required
• 18 years or age or older
• Valid Driver's license
• Strong attention to detail

Compensation Details:
