Job summary

South Port Square is seeking a Porter to handle major floor care projects and trash disposal within our 40-acre Port Charlotte community near Charlotte Harbor. The role supports a caring, hospitality-driven team dedicated to residents’ well-being.

Responsibilities include maintaining floors and carpets, removing trash, and keeping equipment in good condition; training sessions and supervisor-guided tasks are part of the job. GED and English communication are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
• Previous floor maintenance experience preferred but not required.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Porter is responsible for major floor care projects and trash disposal.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Porter:

• Maintains floors and carpets within the Community.
• Picks up and removes major trash from the Community.
• Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
