Job summary

YM & YWHA of Washington Heights & Inwood is seeking a dedicated janitor to maintain cleanliness in our facilities. The role involves cleaning restrooms, common areas, and high-traffic zones, plus light maintenance such as replacing light bulbs and air filters.

The position is full-time, 8 hours per day, Sunday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a pay rate of $20/hour and a competitive benefits package under the CBA.

Qualifications

• Driver’s License Class D, or higher.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, common areas, and high-traffic areas.
• Empty trash and recycling bins.
• Dust and wipe down surfaces.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.

Work Authorization & Clearance

• Documentation of U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the U.S.

• Sunday through Thursday; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Compensation

• Paid at $20 per hour.
• Eligible for salary increases under the collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
