Job summary

Churchill Downs in New Orleans seeks a dedicated F&B Porter to assist in delivering, stocking, maintaining, and cleaning beverage and food venues. You’ll help setup or break down events and ensure a smooth supply chain for service staff.

Ideal candidates maintain FIFO inventory, uphold sanitation standards, and provide prompt service. Some experience in F&B or casino settings is a plus, with 21+ and racing-licensing eligibility required.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ and able to obtain a racing license.
• Preferred high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience in hospitality, casino or food & beverage is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor stock levels and obtain supplies as requested per venue.
• Maintain clean, orderly areas and ensure sanitation standards.
• Perform routine inventory and manage stock per area.
• Ensure timely delivery of requisitions.
• Demonstrate prompt, efficient service to staff and leadership.
• Stock inventory using FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
• Assist with special functions as directed by leadership.
• Maintain equipment standards and report malfunctions immediately.
• Follow department training standards and guest service guidelines.

We are a premiere entertainment venue presenting thoroughbred & exotic animal races, slots, video poker and simulcasting year-round. Located in New Orleans, Fair Grounds operates a slot-machine gaming facility and 13 off-track betting parlors throughout southeast Louisiana.

JOB SUMMARY

The F&B Porter is responsible for the delivery, maintaining, stocking, and cleaning, and ensuring that there is a sufficient supply of products in the Food & Beverage venues. Services to include assistance in setup or breaking functions periodically or as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitors stock levels, obtains supplies and equipment as requested per venue
• Ensures that assigned areas are kept clean and orderly
• Performs and assists with routine inventory daily of all required stock per area of responsibility.
• Ensures that requisitions are delivered in a timely manner
• Understands the importance of prompt and efficient service and continually demonstrates this to the Bartenders, Servers, Concession Attendants and Leadership
• Always stocks and organizes inventory based on FIFO standards (First In, First Out)
• Ensures availability to complete/perform special functions as directed by Leadership
• Demonstrates exceptional time management skills and responds promptly when on in-house radio contact
• Demonstrates the ability to maintain equipment standards. Reports any equipment malfunctions immediately
• Always follow department training standards. (i.e.: clean-as-you-go, re-check guest)
• Always adheres to departmental guidelines for sanitation and safety standards
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be 21 years old and able to obtain a racing license from Louisiana Racing Commission.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Preferred high school diploma or GED equivalent. Some experience needed
