An established industry player is seeking dedicated Full-Time Porters to ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility. This role involves performing various housekeeping tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and maintaining restrooms. Lincoln Park Healthcare Campus is Currently seeking Full-Time Porters for 7a-3pm and 3pm-11pm shifts. Must be able to work every other weekend.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be proficient in the English Language to communicate effectively with residents, staff, and visitors. Some institutional housekeeping background helpful, including stripping, waxing and buffing but not necessary.
POSITION SUMMARY: Performs housekeeping services based on the facility’s policies and procedures as regulated by State, DOH, and Federal laws and regulations. Assures that their assigned area of responsibility is maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
1. Properly sweep and mop corridors and resident rooms utilizing safety precautions.
2. Spray buff corridors and resident rooms as per schedule, utilizes safety precautions.
3. Demonstrates ability to strip, wax and buff rooms, public rooms, employee areas in a timely manner. Follows schedule of total cleaning. Follows schedule of daily, weekly and monthly cleaning.
4. Remove trash from utility rooms as needed.
5. Transport trash from facility to dumpster in a safe, timely manner.
6. Washes walls properly and when needed.
7. Clean elevator tracks as per schedule.
8. Properly cleans restrooms and restrooms floors.
9. Maintains porter closets in an orderly manner, cleans floor and sink and keeps items off floor and 18” from ceiling.
10. Respond to fire alarms and knows responsibilities.
11. Change light bulbs as needed.
12. Unclogs toilets as needed.
13. Assists with Housekeeping/Laundry deliveries in a timely manner.
14. Follows infection control procedures.
15. Assists other areas of E. Service Department such as laundry, housekeeping aide as directed by supervisor.
16. Keep supplies organized and orders new supplies when needed.
Physical Requirements
1. Demonstrate ability to handle stressful situations
2. Must be able to write & speak the English language in an understandable manner.
3. Must be able to see & hear or use prosthesis that will enable these senses to function.
4. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
5. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, and move intermittently during working hours.
6. Ability to relate and work with the physically and emotionally challenged resident.
