Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is hiring a Porter to maintain cleanliness of customer vehicles and facilities. You will pre-wash vehicles before repairs, clean interior and exterior areas, and help move vehicles to sublet locations as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, the ability to multitask, and a valid driver’s license. Automotive experience is preferred, with a strong eye for details and safety-minded work habits.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills applicable to front-of-house and vehicle touchpoints.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced collision repair environment.
• Attention to detail when inspecting vehicles and processing requests.
• Clear close vision required for visual checks and safe operation.
• Must be 18 years or older and have a valid driver's license.
• Automotive experience preferred for quicker assimilation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the shop and office areas.
• Pre-washes and cleans customer vehicles before repairs.
• Perform exterior and interior cleanup after repairs.
• Transport customer vehicles to sublet locations as needed.
• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Assist with general porter duties and front desk support.

Job Description

The Porter complements quality repairs by cleaning customer vehicles prior to vehicle delivery. Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of shop and office facilities.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including daily emptying of garbage cans, cleaning the floors, and dusting the countertops and work area.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area, emptying of waste cans, sweeping the floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location.
• Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary.
• Pre-washes customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning.
• Exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete.
• Transport of customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs.

Education and/or Experience Required

• High School diploma / GED preferred
• Ability to multitask
• Automotive experience preferred
• Clear close vision required
• 18 years or age or older
• Valid Driver's license
• Strong attention to detail
