Responsibilities

  • Assist with organizing and arranging vehicles on the dealership lot in an attractive, accessible manner.
  • Perform routine inspections for cleanliness, damage, and repairs.
  • Move vehicles between the lot, service department and other dealership locations as needed.
  • Assist with vehicle deliveries and pickups, coordinating with sales and service teams.
  • Maintain lot cleanliness and organization, including snow removal in adverse weather.
  • Verify receipt of new cars and park them in the lot in order, checking serial numbers against invoices.
  • Inspect cars for damage and presence of listed accessories, such as spare tires and radios.
  • Assign stock control numbers, catalog, and store keys.
  • Park cars to maximize space and keep the lot orderly.
  • Service cars in storage to protect tires, battery, and finish.
  • Maintain vehicle files for inventory management and ensure proper documentation.
  • Ensure all cars are signed for state and manufacturer requirements.
  • Support dealership events, inventory management, and customer service tasks.

Job description

We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Lot Technician to join our team. The Lot Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining the appearance and organization of our dealership's lot, ensuring that vehicles are properly displayed and ready for sale, including being fully fueled or charged, clean, and ready to demonstrate to customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with organizing and arranging vehicles on the dealership lot, ensuring that vehicles are displayed in an attractive and accessible manner.
  • Perform routine inspections of vehicles on the lot, checking for cleanliness, damage, and any necessary repairs.
  • Move vehicles between the lot, service department, and other dealership locations as required.
  • Assist with vehicle deliveries and pickups, including coordinating with sales and service staff to ensure timely and efficient handling of vehicles.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lot, including sweeping, trash removal, and snow removal during inclement weather.
  • Verifies receipt of new cars delivered to dealer and parks cars in new car lot in an orderly manner: Compares serial numbers of incoming cars against invoice
  • Inspects cars to detect damage and to verify the presence of accessories listed on invoice, such as spare tires and radio and stereo equipment
  • Assigns stock control numbers to cars, and catalogs, and stores keys.
  • Park cars, following sales, to maximize the use of space and maintain lot in order.
  • Services cars in storage to protect tires, battery, and finish against deterioration.
  • Help maintain vehicle file for inventory manager to ensure car documentation is in order.
  • Ensure all cars are properly signed for state and manufacturer requirements.
  • Assist with other tasks as needed, including dealership events, inventory management, and customer service activities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required ; we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • Able to work without supervision.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Able to pass a drug screen and background check
  • Able to drive manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
