Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Portables Support Technician in Florida to assist in inspection, maintenance, and servicing of portable fire protection equipment. This role provides hands-on training under direct supervision and supports experienced technicians while learning NFPA standards and safety practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No minimum experience required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under direct supervision.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn and develop technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspection and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers and related equipment under direct supervision.
• Support senior technicians with service tasks including tagging, documentation, and basic compliance checks.
• Learn and follow NFPA standards, company procedures, and safety protocols.
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment to job sites.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed as directed.
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures while working in the field.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding job progress and needs.
• Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment under supervision.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
