Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Florida is seeking a Portables Support Technician to assist in inspection, maintenance, and servicing of portable fire protection equipment. This entry-level role provides hands-on training under supervision.

The position supports experienced team members while learning applicable codes, standards, and safe work practices related to fire and life safety systems. You will learn NFPA standards, safety procedures, and documentation, travel to job sites, use hand tools,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under direct supervision.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
• Must have a clean driving record (if driving role).
• Must be willing to learn and be a self-starter.
• Must have a stable work history.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspection and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers and related equipment under direct supervision.
• Support senior technicians with service tasks including tagging, documentation, and basic compliance checks.
• Learn and follow NFPA standards, company procedures, and safety protocols.
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment to job sites.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed as directed.
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures while working in the field.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding job progress and needs.
• Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment under supervision.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
