Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Pflugerville, TX is seeking a Portables Support Technician to assist in inspecting, maintaining, and servicing portable fire protection equipment. This role offers hands-on training under direct supervision and exposure to NFPA standards and safety practices.

You will support senior technicians, document work, transport tools, and travel to job sites in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No minimum experience required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under direct supervision.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
• Basic mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver's license (if driving role).

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspection and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers and related equipment under direct supervision.
• Support senior technicians with service tasks including tagging, documentation, and basic compliance checks.
• Learn and follow NFPA standards, company procedures, and safety protocols.
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment to job sites.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed as directed.
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures while working in the field.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding job progress and needs.
• Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment under supervision.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
