Job summary

Marinelink seeks a Port Engineer responsible for ensuring the technical performance and safety of MR tankers operating in the Jones Act trade. This role involves direct communication with shipboard teams, managing vessel budgets, and planning maintenance strategies. Candidates must hold a U.S. Coast Guard Chief Engineer License, have over 10 years of relevant experience, and demonstrate a strong knowledge of maritime regulations. The position will significantly impact fleet performance and safety in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• U.S. Coast Guard Chief Engineer License (Unlimited HP) with Tank Vessel endorsement.
• 10+ years sailing as Chief Engineer on MR tankers.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. and international maritime regulations.
• Expertise in diesel propulsion, electrical systems, and cargo systems.
• Valid TWIC and U.S. Passport.
• Ability to travel extensively and U.S. citizenship with eligibility for Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical management and operational readiness of assigned vessels.
• Partner with Masters and Chief Engineers to ensure safe voyages.
• Plan and execute maintenance strategies and drydock periods.
• Own and manage vessel budgets for operational excellence.
• Champion safety culture and analyze performance data.
