Callan Marine in Galveston, Texas is seeking a Port Engineer to assist in managing and overseeing equipment owned and rented by the company. The role involves maintaining inventory, managing repair programs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
The ideal candidate will have 15 years of relevant experience, strong mechanical and electrical skills, and the ability to work in remote project locations. This position supports the Vessel Manager and requires effective communication and mentoring skills.
The position of Port Engineer is to assist the Vessel Manager with the management and oversight of the equipment owned and/or rented by the company. This is a two‑and one schedule whereby the Port Engineer will rotate with the Vessel Manager.
The Port Engineers work together with the Vessel Manager and, while the Vessel Manager is on leave, report directly to the VP Technical Department for equipment‑related issues.
For logistic and project‑related issues, the Port Engineer reports directly to the Project Manager of the project the equipment is assigned to.

The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.
The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, life vest, respirators, earplugs, steel‑toed shoes, personal flotation devices (PFDs), or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and the location the work is being done.
