Job summary

Smithfield Foods is offering a Production Manager Trainee program designed to develop future farm department leaders. Trainees will learn all facets of the pig production process from breeding to finishing, under supervision, and pursue leadership certification.

Candidates should have a four-year degree in Animal Science or related field and be willing to relocate for training. The role requires strong computer skills and the ability to work long hours in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or related Agricultural field, or student with anticipated graduation.
• Must be able to work an average 48-hour week, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Must be able to lead others and relocate to complete training.
• Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft software.

Responsibilities

• Learns, demonstrates capability/knowledge and becomes certified in all farm department areas.
• Gains understanding of pig production processes, animal flow, farm health, genetics, and husbandry.
• Performs and masters all hourly jobs under supervision and becomes certified in each.
