Job summary

Seaboard Foods seeks a Processor Sales Associate in Merriam, Kansas to support the sale of fresh and frozen pork products. You will learn product specs, inventory levels, and market dynamics while assisting with sales execution, customer service, and accurate recordkeeping.

Collaborating with Scheduling, Production, Customer Service, Transportation, and QA, you’ll help fulfill customer commitments and advance Seaboard Foods’ business objectives as part of a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 2+ years of experience or advanced degree with less experience.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability and willingness to learn pork products, product specifications, packing plant operations, inventory practices, and processor sales processes.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Professional telephone, email, and customer service skills.
• Strong listening, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the promotion and sale of fresh and frozen pork products; monitor daily inventory with Scheduling.
• Assist sales representatives with customer inquiries, follow-up, account support, and sales information.
• Work with the sales team to manage sold positions and pricing.
• Participate in weekly market forecast meetings.
• Collaborate with Scheduling, Production, Customer Service, Transportation, QA to support production planning and order fulfillment.
• Learn to evaluate customer formulas, yields, and product alternatives to support sales decisions.
• Monitor market information and summarize updates for the sales team.
• Assist with investigating and resolving customer concerns related to product specifications.
