Job summary

The Assistant/Associate Professor of Population Medicine and Career Success at NC State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in Raleigh will blend clinical instruction with education research to advance population medicine and student well-being.

You will lead teaching across core and elective courses, build a national research program on large animal population health, and explore immersive technologies, CBVE, and AI in veterinary education, while mentoring graduate students and trainees.

Qualifications

• Must have a DVM (or equivalent degree).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with extramurally funded research programs.
• A record of collegial and productive interactions with faculty, staff and students.
• Interest and enthusiasm for training and mentorship, particularly with regard to graduate students, house officers, and/or postdoctoral fellows.
• Comfort and experience working with highly interdisciplinary and collaborative faculty.

Responsibilities

• Teaching population medicine and career readiness in core, elective, and selective courses.
• Develop and grow a nationally recognized research program in farm animal population health and DVM education.
• Investigate immersive technologies, CBVE, experiential learning, and AI in veterinary education.
• Engage in professional identity formation and curriculum development for students and trainees.
• Other duties as assigned.
