General Summary:
Under minimal supervision, the Lead for Customer Analytics with Healthy Populations performs complex project work, which may include technical analyses or facilitating large multi-disciplinary groups. The Lead may work independently, as a project team leader, or in a consulting capacity. They analyze data related to their technical expertise, train staff, serve as a technical consultant, prepare reports, and coordinate implementation. The role involves regular communication with Senior Management to inform strategies critical to population health initiatives.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze complex financial and clinical scenarios to support decision-making, including financial, clinical, and operational improvements. Gather and interpret claims, clinical, and administrative data to build financial models, make assumptions, and reach conclusions. Lead cross-functional efforts and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Support total cost of care analytics by analyzing cost and utilization data, providing reports and recommendations.
- Act as project lead for customer analytics initiatives, developing project plans, analyzing data, designing reports, and coordinating presentations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to determine data needs and improve strategic analysis, sharing insights across the organization.
- Create and update comprehensive customer models, including cost, utilization projections, and data trends.
- Conduct and present analyses to improve value-based care delivery.
- Work with IT to diagnose, correct, validate data issues in business intelligence tools.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 2 years leading complex projects; 5 years of extensive data analytics experience, preferably in health insurance or healthcare industry with value-based care experience.
- Background in analyzing claims, clinical, and administrative data to deliver actionable insights.
- Ability to develop project plans, analyze data, design reports/dashboards, and communicate insights effectively.
- Experience with data visualization and storytelling, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Power BI and Tableau experience preferred; Epic experience preferred.
