Job summary

Moffitt is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Transfusion Unit to deliver individualized cancer patient care in alignment with hospital guidelines and the ANA code of ethics.

Responsibilities include establishing IVs for transfusion, administering IV meds, monitoring infusion therapy, and educating patients and families. Requires RN license in Florida and BLS, with a BSN or ASN from ACEN/CCNE-accredited program and 1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

• BSN or ASN from an ACEN/CCNE accredited institution with 1 year of relevant experience (or equivalent).
• Florida RN license is required.
• BLS certification is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish IV for Transfusion.
• Administer intravenous medications and fluids as prescribed.
• Monitor patients during infusion therapy and assess vital signs.
• Provide strategies to enhance patient comfort.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures as needed for diagnostic evaluation.
• Conduct catheter care and hygiene.
• Implement aseptic technique to prevent infection.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to update care plans.
• Educate patients and families about treatment protocols and home care instructions.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records.

Duties • Establish IV for Transfusion. • Administer intravenous (IV) medications and fluids as prescribed by physicians. • Monitor patients during infusion therapy, assessing vital signs and overall condition. • Provide strategies and support to enhance patient comfort. • Perform phlebotomy procedures as needed for diagnostic evaluation. • Conduct catheter care, ensuring proper maintenance and hygiene practices. • Implement aseptic techniques to prevent infection during procedures. • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and adjust patient care plans. • Educate patients and their families about treatment protocols, potential side effects, and home care instructions. • Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Credentials and Qualifications: • BSN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with at least one year of relevant experience or ASN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with 1 year of relevant experience • FL RN License • BLS Certification Preferred: • 2 years of bedside experience • 1 year in an ambulatory setting.**Salary Range**$44.25 - $44.25
