Job summary

SPS PoolCare in Sugar Land, TX is seeking a Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee to assist with cleaning and maintaining client pools and facilities. You will support a senior technician, perform routine chemical treatments, monitor water quality, and participate in daily logging and reporting.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, at least 1 year of related experience, and the physical ability to lift up to 80 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Ability to read water analysis and equipment readings for accurate recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pool Maintenance Specialist to clean and maintain filled pools and facilities.
• Periodically perform deep cleaning, brushing, and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces.
• Test pool water for pH, chlorine, bacteria, algae, and contaminants; record results.
• Receive training to ensure proper water color, chemistry, and clarity.
• Calculate and apply chemical treatments to balance pH and eliminate contaminants.
• Inspect pools and equipment for proper operation.
• Maintain daily logs of chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies.

Description

The Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee will maintain pools at client's and associated facilities for the company.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assists Pool Maintenance Specialist to clean and maintain filled pools and facilities by skimming, vacuuming, and performing chemical treatments.
• Periodically empties pools to perform deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces.
• Assists Pool Service Specialist to regularly test pool water for pH; chlorine; presence of bacteria, algae, or contaminants; and other data.
• Receives training from the Pool Service Specialist to ensure correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water.
• Calculates and adds chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants, or correct other problems.
• Inspects pool and equipment.
• Assists Pool Service Specialist to complete and maintain daily logs outlining chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

• Mechanical and manual labor skills related to aquatic facilities and equipment.
• Math skills to calculate chemical additives and ratios.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of related experience required.Physical Requirements:

• Must have adequate sight and hearing to properly interpret water analysis, equipment readings, and complete recordkeeping.
• Physically able to perform all aspects of cleaning, checking, and monitoring pools and facilities.
