Job summary

Smart Pool Services LLC is seeking a Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee to support pool cleaning and chemical balancing at client sites in Sugar Land, TX. The role provides on‑the‑job training and hands-on practice under a lead Pool Maintenance Specialist.

The trainee will assist with cleaning, testing water quality, recording data, and learning proper chemical application and safety procedures. Physical tasks include lifting and working around pool equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pool Maintenance Specialist in cleaning and maintaining pools and facilities using skimming, vacuuming, and chemical treatments.
• Periodically perform deep cleaning by brushing walls, floors, and surfaces.
• Test pool water for pH, chlorine, bacteria, algae, and other indicators.
• Receive training to ensure proper water color, chemistry and clarity.
• Calculate and add chemical treatments to maintain water balance and safety.
• Inspect pool and equipment for proper operation.
• Complete daily logs on chemical usage and water quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

The Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee will maintain pools at client's and associated facilities for the company.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assists Pool Maintenance Specialist to clean and maintain filled pools and facilities by skimming, vacuuming, and performing chemical treatments.
• Periodically empties pools to perform deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces.
• Assists Pool Service Specialist to regularly test pool water for pH; chlorine; presence of bacteria, algae, or contaminants; and other data.
• Receives training from the Pool Service Specialist to ensure correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water.
• Calculates and adds chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants, or correct other problems.
• Inspects pool and equipment.
• Assists Pool Service Specialist to complete and maintain daily logs outlining chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities

• Math skills to calculate chemical additives and ratios.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of related experience required.Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at a time.
• Must have adequate sight and hearing to properly interpret water analysis, equipment readings, and complete recordkeeping.
• Physically able to perform all aspects of cleaning, checking, and monitoring pools and facilities.
