The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a part-time Instructional Aide 2 for their Non-Destructive Testing department. This role involves assisting with setup and instruction in NDT classes and labs, applying hands-on NDT procedures to enhance learning.

This posting is for a pooled position. Application submissions for “[ POOL ]” positions are accepted on an ongoing basis to ensure a continuous and ready pool of qualified candidates for immediate review when the need arises. If/when a position becomes available, the College will review applications from this pool, and interview candidates whose qualifications best match the specific opening. Applicants must reapply to the pool annually to maintain their active status in the pool. The Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Instructional Aide 2 assists with setting up and instruction for all NDT classes and labs. The Assistant applies industry experience, relevant knowledge, skill, and testing procedures specific to NDT in the classroom and labs.
Physical Skills and Abilities: Requires the ability to operate NDT equipment. Must have physical ability to stand for extended periods while operating or monitoring equipment.
Working Conditions: Work is predominantly in the college NDT testing lab, with potential exposure to safety or health hazards.

All Part‑time Classified employees begin at Step 1 of the salary schedule, corresponding to the position’s grade. Placement at a higher step on the salary schedule is not negotiable. Step increases are subject to eligibility, and only take place at the end of the Fiscal Year in July if approved and submitted by the employee’s supervisor of record. Hours worked in more than one position or department cannot be combined for step advancement. Part‑time Classified employees are paid once monthly, on the last day of the month.
As a condition of employment, all new employees are required to be compensated via direct deposit.
Offers of employment are contingent on the applicant having Oregon residency at the time work commences.
