Job summary

Episcopal Retirement Services in Cincinnati, OH seeks a Pool and Maintenance Technician to maintain pools, locker rooms and related equipment across DH and MPL facilities, ensuring a safe, healthy and enjoyable resident environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance and regular upkeep tasks (including weekends) for pools, locker rooms, and spa areas.
• Conducts daily pool/spa water testing and makes chemical adjustments per safety standards.
• Troubleshoots and resolves pool/spa issues; escalates complex problems to manager.
• Maintains locker rooms and launders towels and linens at DH and MPL.
• Travels between DH and MPL to maintain pool, locker rooms, and spa areas.
• Reports incidents to the manager in a timely manner and attends trainings as required.

Position Purpose

To assist in the maintenance and upkeep of pools and pool areas, locker rooms and spa areas and associated equipment at both the Dupree House (DH) and Marjorie P. Lee (MPL) facilities to assure our residents have a safe, healthy and enjoyable environment and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• Has a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in pool/spa management or in related field preferred.
• Has a current Certified Pool Operators license or be willing to obtain license.
• Is able to read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language.
• Possesses sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
• Moves equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and over 100 pounds occasionally.
• Has the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
• Has a valid state driver's license and maintains current auto insurance and the ability to travel between Communities.
• Is willing to work harmoniously with other personnel as well as be willing to handle residents based at whatever behavior or acuity level they are currently functioning and is able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the community.
• Must be fully up-to-date with required vaccinations.

As a Pool and Maintenance Technician you can expect to

• Performs preventive maintenance and regular upkeep tasks (including weekends), including pool brushing, cleaning filter baskets, and backwashing of pools and spas.
• Conduct daily testing of pool/spa water and make necessary chemical adjustments in accordance to safety standards and policies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve pool and spa issues, including pump room maintenance. Escalate problems that are beyond the scope of this role to manager.
• Assists in daily upkeep of the DH and MPL locker rooms and laundering of towels and linens at DH.
• Collaborates with the Wellness Department to ensure the high quality of service is compatible with Certified Pool Operator license, Cincinnati Board of Health and ERS standards.
• Maintains Certified Pool Operator license.
• Travels between DH and MPL to maintain pool, looker room and spa areas at both facilities.
• Reports all incidents to manager in a timely manner.
• Attends in-service educational sessions, continuing educational programs and other meetings as required.
