Job summary

The City of Davis Parks & Community Services Department is seeking a Pool Maintenance Aide to support the operation of four aquatic complexes. The role covers basic maintenance and minor repairs under the supervision of the Aquatics Facilities Supervisor.

You'll work early hours, assist with cleaning, equipment handling, and grounds maintenance, and drive to transport materials as needed. The job demands fitness, reliability, and the ability to work safely around water and crowds.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to read and write at a level necessary for job performance.
• Knowledge of basic pool maintenance methods, tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of basic safety practices.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor and follow instructions.
• Ability to swim confidently and be comfortable around pools.
• Strong communication with staff and community members.
• Prior pool maintenance experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Pool maintenance/service hours are typically between 6:00 am-10:00 am, Monday-Friday and/or Saturday-Sunday, hours may vary depending on use and needs
• Cleaning pool deck equipment, splash pad features, slides and pool buildings and shower facilities
• Vacuums swimming pools, cleans pool tiles, and empties skimmer baskets
• Assists with portable vacuums, salt and other pool supplies
• Assists with needed repairs and equipment replacement as needed
• Assists with general grounds maintenance such as raking and turf maintenance, hosing off pool decks and emptying garbage and recycling containers
• Drives vehicles to transport materials, tools, and equipment as needed; clean and maintain shared park maintenance equipment
• Assures that all equipment and facilities are safely and properly prepared and maintained
• Keeps work environments clean and organized
• Performs other related duties as needed
