Job summary

The City of Palmdale is seeking an Aquatics Maintenance Worker I/II to support the maintenance of four municipal pools, a splashpad, and DryTown Water Park, including water quality testing and safety inspections.

The role offers progression from Maintenance Worker I to II, with responsibilities spanning cleaning, safety checks, and basic repairs to aquatic facilities. A CA driver’s license is required; certification within 12 months is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• California driver's license by time of appointment.
• Must become Los Angeles County Certified Swimming Pool Service Technician within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and inspect the work of contract maintenance workers.
• Inspect areas for safety, appearance, and vandalism problems.
• Perform plumbing, carpentry and basic electrical repairs and maintenance.
• Service heating and air conditioning units; paint facilities.
• Inspect pool and aquatic facilities and test water quality.
