Job summary

Andaz Miami Beach Resort & Spa is seeking a Pool & Beach Bar Attendant to join our team. The role involves supporting the Pool and Beach beverage operations outdoors in a fast-paced luxury resort, ensuring bartenders have supplies and maintaining bar cleanliness.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, basic food/beverage knowledge, and a year of experience in hospitality or customer service. Flexibility for weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or certificate in relevant training.
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage operations and guest service standards.
• A minimum of one year of food and beverage, barback, restaurant, or customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Pool and Beach bar operations by assisting bartenders and ensuring supplies are stocked.
• Set up and stock Pool and Beach bar areas with liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and service supplies.
• Attend pre-shift meetings to learn daily operational updates and guest expectations.
• Greet and acknowledge guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Maintain bar cleanliness and replenish ice and supplies throughout the shift.

Andaz Miami Beach Resort & Spa is now recruiting a Pool & Beach Bar Attendant to join our team. An art-deco building and architectural landmark is home to the newest luxury lifestyle hotel located in the heart of Mid-Beach. The property boasts 287 guestrooms including 64 breathtaking suites and the ONLY Ocean-view arrival experience in Miami Beach. The design features elements of texture, art, and pops of color that create a unique and captivating experience. Each suite is designed with floor-to-ceiling windows, most with deep-soaking tubs, and cozy reading nooks. Guests can also enjoy private outdoor terraces with stunning views of the Atlantic and the Miami skyline. Unmatched amenities include a full-service spa, a well-equipped fitness center, a destination dining experience by José Andrés, two pools, and a Beach Club catering to the who’s who of Miami fashion.

Pool & Beach Bar Attendants are responsible for supporting the Pool and Beach beverage operations by ensuring bartenders have the supplies, products, and equipment needed to deliver exceptional service. They maintain bar cleanliness, stock beverages and garnishes, replenish ice and supplies, and assist with operational needs to ensure a seamless guest experience. This role requires working outdoors in a fast-paced luxury resort environment while maintaining Hyatt and Forbes service standards.

Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions

• Support bartenders during service using Forbes service standards.
• Set up and stock Pool and Beach bar areas with liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and service supplies.
• Attend pre-shift meetings to learn daily operational updates, promotions, and guest expectations.
• Greet and acknowledge guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Replenish ice, beverages, and bar supplies throughout the shift to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Remove empty bottles, glassware, and debris from bar and guest areas promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar stations, storage areas, and service locations.
• Assist with receiving, transporting, and storing beverage products and supplies.
• Ensure all equipment and supplies are properly handled and returned to designated storage areas.
• Abide by all corporate policies, laws, and requirements pertaining to the service of alcoholic beverages.
• Support opening and closing duties, including cleaning, restocking, and preparing the bar for the next shift.
• Perform other related functions that may be assigned.

Qualifications

Pool & Beach Barback Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma and/or certificate in relevant training.
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage operations and guest service standards.
• A minimum of one (1) year of food and beverage, barback, restaurant, or customer service experience is preferred. Hotel or resort experience is preferred.
• Must have physical stamina to lift moderate to heavy amounts of weight.
• Ability to walk, bend, lift, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with bartenders and other team members.
• A valid food badge and/or any required alcohol service certification.
• Refined verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
• Well-groomed, professional appearance.
