Job summary

Andaz Miami Beach Resort & Spa is hiring a Pool Bartender to prepare and serve beverages in a fast-paced outdoor pool setting. You will ensure responsible alcohol service, maintain bar cleanliness, and deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualified candidates have bartending experience in hotel or resort environments and are able to work weekends/holidays. Knowledge of Micros and POS systems is a plus; must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending experience in a hotel, resort, restaurant, beach club, or high-volume food and beverage environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, cocktail preparation, and standard bar practices.
• Knowledge of responsible alcohol service and applicable state and local regulations.
• Excellent guest service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, outdoor environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to build rapport with guests and create memorable experiences.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic mathematical skills for cash handling and transaction processing.
• Experience with POS systems, including Micros, preferred but not required.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Flexible availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
• Must obtain and maintain any required food handling and alcohol service certifications.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude at all times.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Mixes, garnishes, and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to company recipes and standards.
• Verifies guest age requirements and ensures compliance with all alcohol service regulations.
• Maintains knowledge of beverage menus, cocktails, wines, beers, and promotions.
• Processes guest orders accurately through the point-of-sale system.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of the bar area and supplies.
• Provides prompt, professional, friendly, and personalized service to guests.
• Collaborates with servers, barbacks, supervisors, and managers to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Performs opening side work and sets up the bar station.
• Attends training sessions and department meetings.

Andaz Miami Beach Resort & Spa is looking for a Pool Bartender who are excited, qualified, hard-working individuals with a passion for hospitality and a commitment to superior guest service. Experience with Micros is beneficial but not required. The Pool Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests while delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced pool environment. This role ensures compliance with all beverage standards, maintains a clean and organized work area, and creates a memorable guest experience through engaging and attentive service.

• Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures
• To ensure that all perishable items used behind the bar are labeled/dated and responsible for rotating and throwing away to maintain quality control
• Works as part of a team
• Portrays a positive, friendly, and professional attitude at all times, always smiles and greets guests warmly and genuinely
• Provides prompt, professional, friendly, and personalized service to our guests
• Provides help and support to all fellow colleagues
• Performs opening side work and sets up the bar station
• Attends and participates in any training sessions and department meetings
• Provides professional and exceptional food and beverage service
• Listens to guests and anticipates their needs
• Responds to guests’ questions and requests in a timely manner
• Proper serving of wine, beer, spirits, and cocktails with responsible alcohol awareness
• Properly executes closing procedures
• Completes closing side work and maintains a clean and organized workstation

• Assists with inventory counts and restocking of products as needed
• Maintains proper sanitation and food safety standards at all times
• Handles cash, credit card transactions, and guest checks accurately
• Collaborates with servers, barbacks, supervisors, and managers to ensure efficient service delivery
• Maintains cleanliness of the pool bar, surrounding guest areas, and back-of-house beverage storage areas
• Responds promptly and professionally to guest concerns and resolves issues whenever possible
• Promotes hotel amenities, dining offerings, and beverage specials to enhance the guest experience
• Demonstrates flexibility and availability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on business demands
• Upholds the service standards and brand expectations of Andaz Miami Beach Resort & Spa
• Performs other duties as assigned by management to support pool and beverage operations
• Maintains a safe working environment and immediately reports accidents, hazards, or unsafe conditions
• Ensures all guests receive a memorable, engaging, and exceptional hospitality experience throughout their visit.
