JOB SUMMARY

To supervise the use of the indoor and outdoor pools for the enjoyment of guests and owners.

Beachfront resort on Atlantic Beach seeking energetic team members to tend to multiple swimming pools and hot tubs on our property to ensure the safe, fun use of the facilities. THIS IS NOT A LIFEGUARD POSITION. Daily activities will include maintaining the cleanliness of lounge furniture and restrooms at the pools, keeping the pool areas generally tidy, and reminding vacationers to follow posted pool rules. Attendants may also assist the Recreation Team with facilitating activities in the pool area. Multiple shifts available ranging from 9:30am start to 10:00pm end.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Arrive 10 minutes before the shift begins.
  • Prepare pool areas for guest use by cleaning and tidying tables and chairs.
  • Check to ensure that all pool tubes are properly inflated.
  • Keep pool tubes stacked by slide stairs when not in use.
  • Perform setup and take down of umbrellas at beginning and/or end of shift.
  • Clean and maintain the pool area and restrooms throughout the shift.
  • Develop and maintain a friendly relationship with owners and guests.
  • Monitor guests and owners using pools for recreation wristbands.
  • Remind guests and owners of pool rules when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Ability to get along with diverse personalities – tactful, honest, mature, responsible and courteous. Has ability to deal tactfully and professionally with owners, guests, board members, and public. Must stay focused on activities taking place and maintain order for the safety and comfort of guests and owners. Must have ability to meet and maintain personal cleanliness and hygiene standards as set forth in the Employee Handbook.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for indefinite periods of time, use hands, talk, hear, and smell. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, stand, stoop, kneel, climb or balance, crouch, bend or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The employee must be able to walk several hundred yards at a time, from the resort office to the courtyard recreation area.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is mainly outdoors. The walking surface may be wet and slippery. Must be comfortable working in direct sun, heat or inclement weather for sustained periods of time.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to understand and speak fluent English.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Background check will be completed as a condition of employment.
  • Must be dependable and be able to work without constant supervision.
  • Must be comfortable around various individuals (including children) and be tolerant of heat.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in fast-paced position.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
