Job summary

Opal Collection is seeking a Pool Attendant to create a safe, clean, and inviting poolside experience for resort guests. The role includes assisting guests with seating, distributing towels, setting up lounge chairs and umbrellas, and upholding resort safety standards.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, anticipating needs, maintaining pool area knowledge, and ensuring towels and towels logistics are handled.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
• Excellent guest service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and carry 75 lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests at the pool in a professional, friendly manner.
• Anticipate and respond promptly to guest needs; maintain positive relations.
• Manage towels, chairs, umbrellas, and pool deck setup.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety of pool area and restrooms.

The Pool Attendant is responsible for creating a safe, clean, and enjoyable poolside experience for resort guests. This role maintains the cleanliness and organization of pool and beach areas, assists guests with seating and amenities, and ensures compliance with resort policies and safety standards. The Pool Attendant provides exceptional customer service by anticipating guest needs, distributing towels, setting up lounge chairs and umbrellas, and responding promptly to requests. As a key member of the resort operations team, the Pool Attendant helps deliver a welcoming, relaxing, and memorable beachfront resort experience while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Greets all guests arriving at the pool in a professional, friendly, and engaging manner.
• Anticipate guests’ needs, responds promptly, and acknowledge all guests.
• Maintains positive guest relations at all times.
• Maintain complete knowledge of daily house count, VIPs in-house, arrivals/departures, all hotel facilities and services, and hours of operation for each F&B outlet.
• Obtain clean towels from Laundry and transport them to the pool deck; fold and stack towels.
• Open, set up, and organize pool deck.
• Set-up pool furniture, towels, and umbrellas.
• Remove trash and debris from all work areas and pool facilities.
• Sweep, wash down, mop, and clean the pool deck; use the squeegee to dry the decks.
• Check pool restrooms and throughout the shift for supply levels, cleanliness, and working order. Notify the proper departments of any needs.
• Adheres to all pool safety standards, including safety procedures for adverse weather conditions.
• Collects dirty towels left on chairs and pool deck.
• Utilize first aid and lifesaving procedures when situations demand.
• Complete closing duties. Return soiled towels to the Laundry.

Working Conditions

Primarily outdoor work in a beachfront resort setting with frequent exposure to sunlight, water, sand, chemicals used in pool maintenance, and high guest traffic areas.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous Experience is a Plus
• Able to work a flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Excellent guest service skills and oral communication skills.
• Ability to lift to 20 lbs. and carry up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods.
