General Purpose

To monitor and maintain the safety and cleanliness of the pool area (at applicable campuses) and locker rooms. Greet swimmers as they arrive and maintain a warm, welcoming environment. Provide clean towels for swimmers as they leave the pool.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• This position may require day, evening or weekend work. Pool Attendants are hired for specific shifts but may be called upon to substitute for another Pool Attendant.
• Attend new Employee Orientation and Wellness Department orientation within 2 weeks of employment to understand the Mission, Goals, Health & Wellness Philosophies, and expectations.
• Report directly to the Senior Pool Attendant and ultimately to the Wellness Director.
• Greet swimmers upon arrival and maintain a friendly environment.
• Monitor and maintain the safety and cleanliness of the pool area and locker rooms, reporting concerns to the Senior Pool Attendant or relevant departments.
• Notify the Senior Pool Attendant of any supplies needed for the pool area.
• Maintain accurate daily records of pool chemistry, attendance, temperature, and report deviations.
• Complete incident reports as needed and submit them to the appropriate supervisor or director.
• Address questions or concerns, directing them to the appropriate supervisor if unable to answer.
• Substitute for other pool attendants as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Related Duties

• Assist with last-minute class cancellations by contacting participants.
• Answer the pool phone and provide information about hours and classes.
• Provide water for aquatic class participants and clean equipment after use.
• Assist in cleaning the natatorium and outside pool deck annually.

Qualifications

Required: Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills; ability to work with minimal supervision; reliable transportation; access to a computer and cell phone.

Preferred: Experience with older adults; high school diploma or higher.

Physical Requirements

Standing, sitting, walking, lifting up to 20 lbs., climbing stairs, bending, and repetitive motions. Ability to communicate effectively and use standard office equipment.

Working Conditions

Pool (natatorium) and office environment.

• Part-time, every Wednesday 8AM to 2PM
