JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a responsible and customer-service-oriented Pool Attendant to join our team at a student housing community in Virginia. The Pool Attendant will ensure the safety, cleanliness, and enjoyable experience of the pool area for all residents. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, have a strong attention to detail, and are committed to maintaining a positive community environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:- Monitor pool area to ensure safety and proper resident conduct in accordance with community and state guidelines
- Enforce pool rules and policies to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment
- Inspect and maintain pool area cleanliness, including furniture arrangement, debris removal, and surface cleaning
- Check pool chemical levels and report any concerns or maintenance issues to the appropriate staff
- Ensure access to the pool is restricted to authorized residents and guests
- Report any incidents, accidents, or violations to management immediately
- Set up and take down umbrellas, furniture, and signage as needed
- Provide friendly and professional interaction with residents and guests
- Support maintenance and office staff as needed with light tasks or resident questions
QUALIFICATIONS:- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- CPO Certification preferred
- Previous experience in customer service or as a pool attendant is a plus
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred; Lifeguard certification a plus (but not required)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and responsibly
- Reliable transportation to and from the property
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed during the pool season
Work Environment & Schedule:- Outdoor environment with exposure to sun and water
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods
- Seasonal position typically runs from May through September
- Shifts may vary, including mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays
