Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Pond Technician in Hawaii to maintain ponds and pools across our grounds. You will test water quality, manage vegetation, and operate pumps, filters, and aerators to keep aquatic systems healthy and aesthetically pleasing.

The role requires IPM knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to drive between sites. A high school diploma plus experience with aquatic systems is expected; a valid driver's license is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• 3+ years knowledge of aquatic systems and water quality management.
• 3+ years experience with pool and pond maintenance equipment.
• A valid driver's license may be required; maintain acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain ponds and pools, test water quality, vegetation control, and debris removal.
• Monitor aquatic life and manage ecosystem balance.
• Operate and maintain pond equipment such as pumps, filters, and aerators.
• Implement IPM plans to control vegetation and pests.
• Document maintenance activities and report issues to supervisor.

Title:Pond Tech PTJob Description:35/hrJob OverviewThe Pond Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and management of pools, ponds and other aquatic systems. This role involves inspecting, maintaining, and ensuring the health and aesthetic quality of the pools and ponds on the grounds. The technician will work closely with the property manager to implement effective pool & pond management practices.Roles & ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.Inspect and maintain ponds and pools, including water quality testing, vegetation control, and debris removal.Monitor and manage aquatic life, ensuring a balanced ecosystem.Operate and maintain pond equipment such as pumps, filters, and aerators.Implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) plans to control unwanted vegetation and pests.Frequently assess pond conditions and perform necessary maintenance tasks.Collaborate with the grounds support team to ensure overall landscape health and aesthetics.Document maintenance activities and report any issues or concerns to the supervisor.The ability to drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities may be necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.Must be willing to do other labor projects on grounds as needed.QualificationTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
