Job summary

Mauna Kea Resort Services is seeking a Lead Pool & Pond Tender to test and chemically treat pools, ponds, and spas, and to manage chemical inventories and safety procedures. You may train other tenders and perform minor repairs on pumps and filters to ensure guest and homeowner satisfaction.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, recording usage, and following safety policies while traveling the resort to private residences as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to swim.
  • Driver’s license required to operate company vehicles.
  • Certified Pool & Spa Operator (CPO).
  • Pond Aquaculture certification.

Responsibilities

  • Test and chemically treat pools, ponds, spas, etc.
  • Maintain inventory of chemicals and inform manager when restock is needed.
  • Perform minor repairs to filters and pumps and keep equipment in good condition.
  • Train pool and pond tenders on cleaning and safety procedures.

Division: Grounds & Golf (GRG007)

Band 1U
MKRS Lead Pool & Pond Tender

Responsible for testing and chemical treatment of pools, ponds, spas, etc.Responsible for the inventory of chemicals used and inform manager of the need to re-order.Perform minor repairs to filters and pumps.Train pool and pond tenders on proper cleaning and safety protocols and procedures.Check pools, ponds, spas and the heaters, pumps, etc. to ensure that they are operating and maintained properly prior to guest or homeowner arrival.Perform the duties of the pool and pond tender when needed.Report concerns or irregularities to manager.Record information on chemicals and supplies used to insure proper charges to clients.

Essential Duties:
  1. Monitor and maintain necessary inventory pars of supplies and chemicals; inform manager when restock is necessary
  2. Complete minor repairs to filters and pumps
  3. Report on irregularities or concerns to manager
  4. Visually inspect pool, spa and pond water level
  5. Successfully complete tasks on check list
  6. May train pool and pond tenders
  7. Check pump/heater, cleanliness of pools, ponds, spas, etc. prior to homeowner/guest arrival
  8. Perform duties following safety procedures and policies
  9. Complete assignments in an accurate and timely manner
  10. Assist in special projects
  11. Clean and maintain tools and equipment
  12. Secure entrance to the property upon leaving
  13. Maintain precise records of supplies and chemicals used at each residence
  14. Perform duties of a pool and pond tender
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned or required
Other Duties:
  1. Assist other positions in the department as needed
  2. Ensure all equipment is returned at the end of the day in proper working condition
Working Conditions:
  1. Work outdoors in various weather conditions
  2. Travel through the resort to private residences
  3. Must be able to enter pools and spas
Work Hours:
  1. Must be able to work shift and days set by the Manager
  2. Must be able to work over 40 hours per week as needed
Equipment Use:
  1. Use the telephone or radio
  2. Pool, Pond & Spa cleaning tools i.e. pole, net brush
  3. Pool and spa vacuum
  4. Submersible pump
  5. Miscellaneous tools i.e. ladder, wrench, socket set, pliers, bolo knife, brush
  6. Utility cart and company vehicle
Mental and Physical Demands:
  1. Ability to prioritize and organize workload
  2. Able to stand and walk during most of shift
  3. Able to train and direct other employees
  4. Climb in and out of pools, ponds, and spas
  5. Carry tools and equipment up to 25 pounds
Communication Demands:
  1. Effective written and oral communication with internal and external customers.
  2. Ability to communicate over the phone or radio.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
  1. Must be able to swim
  2. Driver’s license required to operate company utility vehicles
  3. Certified Pool & Spa Operator
  4. Pond Aquaculture certification
