Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Night Shift Polysomnographic Technologist for the Arnett Hospital Sleep Lab. This full-time role runs 7pm-7:30am Sunday-Tuesday, with a $15,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates and a night shift differential.

Responsibilities include conducting sleep studies, equipment preparation, patient interviewing, testing, scoring, and reporting, with supervision of staff as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related experience.
  • Must obtain RPSGT or SDS certification within 2 years of hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification or ability to obtain it.

  • Perform basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies and supervise other staff as needed.
  • Prepare patient equipment and interview patients to determine sleep disorder issues and explain procedures.
  • Monitor patients during testing and intervene to resolve needs or equipment issues.
  • Assist with scoring sleep studies and generating reports.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment and report needed repairs or replacements.

About This Position


  • Full Time, Night Shift, 3-12s, 7pm-7:30am Sunday-Tuesday.

  • Sign on Bonus of $15,000 available to Eligible Candidates

  • Night Shift Pay Differential included

  • Location: Arnett Hospital Sleep Lab


This position performs basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies and may provide supervision of other staff. They prepare patient equipment for testing, interviews patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain pre and post testing procedures. They perform and document testing per lab protocols. They will monitor patient throughout testing and intervene as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues. They will assist with scoring sleep studies and generating reports. The role prepares, calibrates, repairs and maintains equipment required for testing. They determine and report needed repairs/replacements. They will maintain credentials as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BPRT). Certifications obtained through the American Board of Sleep Medicine will be honored through their certification date or until credentials through the BPRT are obtained.


Requirements


  • High School Diploma/GED is required. Associate's Degree is preferred.

  • Experience in BiPAP/ASV Titration preferred.

  • Requires 1-3 years of experience.

  • Must obtain certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or certification as a Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) within 2 years of date of hire.

  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA or will need to acquire it. Must be able to pass boards within 2 years.
