Polysomnographic Technician
Join Indiana University Health as a Polysomnographic Technician. This full‑time night shift role performs basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies under the supervision of a Polysomnographic Technologist. The technician prepares patient equipment, interviews patients to explain pre‑ and post‑testing procedures, monitors patients throughout testing, intervenes as needed, assists with scoring sleep studies, and generates reports. They also calibrate, repair, and maintain equipment and report required repairs or replacements.
About This Position
- Full time, night shift
- 3–12 hour shifts 6:30 pm – 7 am
- Sign‑on bonus of $15,000 available to eligible candidates
- Night shift pay differential included
- Location: Riley Hospital‑North
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Accredited educational polysomnography program leading to certification or an associate degree in Polysomnography, or a medical program with a minimum of an AS degree and state license or certification (Medical Assistant, Nursing, Respiratory Care, etc.), or a minimum of 6 months experience as a Polysomnographic Technician trainee with documented proficiency in all required competencies.
- Pass the board exam and become a credentialed RPSGT within 2 years of hire, requiring completion of an accredited STAR or ASTEP Polysomnographic Program.
- Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
