Upstate Medical University in Syracuse is looking for a Polysomnographic Technician to conduct sleep testing including monitoring EKG, EOG, ECG, and more. The role also includes assisting in scoring sleep stages and interpreting Polysomnographic recordings.
Qualified candidates must have an Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy, a valid NYS license, and CPR-BLS certification. Preferred qualifications include clinical acute care experience and RPSGT or SDS certification.
The Polysomnographic Technician conducts nocturnal and diurnal sleep testing in the Sleep Center to include monitoring of EKG, EOG, ECG, EMG, nasal/oral ventilations, chest and abdominal excursions, blood oximetry, leg and body movements and other special procedures. The position also assists in scoring sleep stages, apneas, movements and interpreting Polysomnographic recordings. Willingly performs other duties as requested.
Associates in Respiratory Therapy, NYS license/registration as a Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Therapy Technician or Sleep Technologist required. CPR-BLS Certification Required.
Post Associates degree clinical acute care experience preferred. Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Sleep Disorders Specialty (SDS) preferred.
