Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an entry-level Polysomnographer Trainee to join the Sleep Lab team. You will receive hands-on training in preparing patients for overnight studies, applying sensors, and operating diagnostic equipment under supervision.

Under the guidance of a Registered Polysomnographer, you will learn scoring sleep data, ensure patient safety, and develop essential skills for sleep diagnostics. A New Jersey trainee license is required to begin this journey.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office.
• High School diploma or GED accepted; pursuing licensure as Polysomnographic Trainee.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for overnight sleep studies under supervision.
• Apply monitoring sensors and operate diagnostic/therapeutic equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, ASV).
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
• Document observations and assist in scoring sleep data.
• Learn the process of sleep study scoring under guidance of a Registered Polysomnographer.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• Active NJ Polysomnographic Trainee License. If not Registered after one year of Training, will require an active NJ Polysomnographic Technician license.
• BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
